Not Spring Breaking in Cancun?

If you know me personally, you know that my family and I never usually do anything out of the ordinary for Spring Break. Out of the ordinary to us are things like, going on vacation, driving around to different places, or anything that involves changing our daily normal routine. Even as a student living away from home in college, I still go back home for Spring Break and basically do what I normally did in High School: Avoid anything that has to do with school and sleep.

Due to years of doing this, I have come up with things to do when there isn’t anything to do and I’m happy to share my top 3 with you:

  1. Sleep. This one is self explanatory. Catch up on those extra Zzzzs that you have missed out on due to school and extracurricular activities.
  2. Branch Out. All of your friends out of town? No problem. Living in a technologically advanced and connected world, it is easy to search for events going on around town and this is also a great opportunity to meet new people. This can be things like volunteering somewhere for a cause that you are passionate about, or going to a random concert/spring festival that may be going on near where you live.
  3.  Find new shows to watch! This is what I did the most during my spring break and I regret nothing. I finished Leverage on Netflix and had to find something to fill the void. That void ended up being filled by Quantico and finding new Youtubers to watch!

Would I have had a more fun spring break spent somewhere else with friends? Maybe, who knows. All I know is, I’m content with how I spent my break and am refreshed and ready to finish this school year!
